Early Intervention Project. The project provides targeted support and intervention for young people who are in trouble with the law and/or at risk of serious crime and anti-social behaviour, including those at ‘risk of serious harm to others’ through youth violence. In addition it specifically addresses the needs of young people in receipt of a ‘final warning’ or ‘police reprimand’.
The project reduces offending, including reoffending, by enabling young people to reflect, develop and agree their own short and long term goals. They are provided with practical skills to prevent relapse and develop coping strategies in order to ‘stay on track’. It supports them to address patterns of crime and harm caused by anti-social behaviour and to develop ideas and activities appropriate to their needs and those of others in similar circumstances.
