£10,000 for 1 year
The Ufton Court Educational Trust is a registered charity providing young people with life-changing and inspirational educational experiences in the grounds of an Elizabethan manor, located at Ufton Nervet, near Reading.
Every year, over 7,000 children take part, with their schools or youth groups, in a range of activities focussing on life skills, the environment and living history. Ufton Court are increasingly targeting the most disadvantaged young people in the area and work with local schools, pupil referral units, welfare to work providers and women’s refuges. They are now operating at full capacity and have a waiting list for places.
Beach Vollyball Court for local disadvantaged and under privileged children
WWMT funded a beach volleyball court at Ufton Court Adventure, a new educational project which aims to provide local disadvantaged children with opportunities for residential outdoor activities that are designed to remove barriers to personal achievement. One of the visiting children said “I learned it doesn’t matter where you come from, you can always make your life better”.
Mary Riall, Chief Executive from Ufton Court said ‘This is a fantastic addition. As a charity, we rely on the generosity of people like the William Wates Memorial Trust to help us continue our vital work to unlock the potential of local disadvantaged and under privileged children.’
